What is Micro-Current

What is Micro-current?

What is Micro-current?
Microcurrent is a low level electrical current the mimics the body’s own natural current.
It is a non-invasive service that gives you the freedom to attain anti-aging goals without the recovery, downtime, and expense of surgeries. The intended use for the device is to aid in the battle of anti-aging by diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improving the texture and appearance of the skin, re-educating and toning facial muscles, and reducing the overall visual appearance of aging.

How does it work?

For Healing and Pain Reduction: It works on a cellular level to stimulate the natural healing process.  The body’s electrical balance is disturbed when injury occurs, so the natural current changes course.  Microcurrent treatment restores the balance giving the body the ability to heal at a rate of 250-350% faster.
For Anti-aging: If you have fine lines or wrinkles, sagging muscles or lost elasticity, this is simply damaged skin.  Micro current increases ATP production by 500%--this is the primary molecule our bodies use to produce energy and is found in every cell of the body, which drives the biological processes of the body. This gives your facial muscles and skin a workout that increases the production of collagen and elastin, two essential proteins needed for the skin to remain youthful and glowing. The muscle are toned, tightened re-educated. A microcurrent facial is in essence a non-surgical facelift that will leave your skin looking amazing with no side effects or downtime.
Microcurrent therapy is also used for treatment of Bell’s Palsy and strokes to help reduce paralysis. Studies are currently being conducted for the use of microcurrent therapy to help cure addictions, as well as added support of behavioral programs such as weight loss, smoking and drinking.

What are the Benefits?
Microcurrent facials are a safe and non invasive procedure that will sculpt your face, accentuate cheek bones, smooth out wrinkles and fine lines, define your jaw line and improve your overall skin texture.  Additional benefits include lymphatic drainage, regeneration of connective tissue, toning and tightening of the skin, enhanced elasticity, and improved skin pigmentation.  You will see results after the first treatment and a vast improvement after each additional treatment.

Is it Painful?
Microcurrent is actually quite relaxing.  It mimics the body’s own natural current so it is sub-sensory in most cases.  It is so slight that it would take 1 million microcurrent machines to power a 40-watt light bulb.

Is it safe?
It is completely safe, however there are some contraindications.  Microcurrent should not be used on people with pacemakers, epilepsy, phlebitis, thrombosis, pregnant women, or anyone with active cancer.

How often should treatments be given?
Depending on the condition of skin and muscles, and to obtain maximum results, a series of 10 to 15 treatments should be performed.  Ideally, twice weekly for the first 1-2 weeks then once a week for 4-5 weeks, followed by maintenance treatments every 4-6 weeks. Each treatment is approx. 60 – 90 minutes.
